Opening Birthday Gifts!

Ethan was ecstatic when he turned one! He was grinning from ear to ear.
It took a few hours for Ethan to open all his gifts, especially this large one!

Not sure where little kids learn to smile for the camera but at 11 months old, Ethan started squinting his eyes and smiling when asked to pose for a picture.

9 Months!

Ethan showing off his two new pearly whites at 9 months of age! He's had these beauties for at least 2 weeks now.

Growing up...

Month 8 was a big one for our little Eman. He starting eating lots of different kinds of food including some table food. He likes dim sum and porridge and once his daddy even made him pureed teriyaki chicken. His first two teeth, the bottom central incisors came in. He starting crawling, pulling himself to stand, and walking around while holding on to furniture. He also learned to clap his hands, wave bye-bye, and pick up food using his pincer grasp amongst other things. It's amazing how fast he's grown. *tear*

Ethan loves spending time with daddy. He loves falling asleep in daddy's arms while he (daddy) watches cartoons. He also loves that he gets thrown in the air, gets flown around like superman, but most of all he loves being tickled...

Ethan Sports a New Ride!

Happy 5 months old Ethan! He loves his new car. He's got it "lowered" to a 3 setting just like them LA BoYZ like it, so he can look COOL and "um" touch the ground with his feet. Ethan can only move sideways in the car, but he's sure to let everyone know that he's coming through by honking and tooting his horn and blasting his music. You can feel and hear the vibrations coming from his subwoofers. :)

Ethan meets cousin Alexis!

Ethan took his 2nd trip down to LA this past weekend. He got to meet his new cousin Alexis who is 8 weeks old. They're already holding hands. ;) awww. ..how cute!

Sleeping Through the Night...

Ethan had his 4 month well check appointment today. Here are his official stats: weight = 15 lbs 10.2 oz (62%) , height=26 inches (82%), head circumference = 43.5 cm (79%). In summary, he's a tall, skinny dude with a big head. Grandpa was very proud of his big head. hah!

He also had another round of vaccinations today. Poor guy! I was afraid he was going to be fussy all night again like his last round of vaccinations at his 2 month appointment. What did Ethan surprise mommy with instead? He slept 6 hours from 7 pm to 1 am, got up to eat, and then from 1 am to 6 am. I was a proud mommy! I thought perhaps this was when Ethan would start sleeping through the night. But boo...the next night, Ethan was back to his waking up every 1-2 hour routine. Someday..someday...

BTW, sleeping through the night is considered sleeping 5 hours straight. Will I ever get my 8 hours of sleep at night again???

Ethan was scared to get into the hot tub with the other kids at P&N's pool party in Santa Cruz. He was bullied by a big 15 month old boy who tried to pour pool water on Ethan, making him hesitant to get in.

Ethan is 3 months old today. He's a big boy now and is happy as can be. If only he can learn to sleep through the night...

Ethan's 1st Roadtrip

We took Ethan down to LA to attend Candace's baby shower. We were worried at first, but Ethan did great. He slept the entire drive down and up, and had to be woken up and reminded that he had to eat.

Despite being a new daddy, John still has time to play. Here he is having some fun in the pool with Ethan's new Uncle Jeff. John can't wait for Ethan to grow older so he has a permant buddy to play with and watch cartoons with. Contrary to popular belief, this is a video of John and Jeff, and not of Anthony and Nathan (Audrey's little nephews who are 8 and 6 years old)
